In case you might be wondering why I made a point to mention dead pixels in my recent iMac G5 piece, it's because the unit Apple Computer loaned me has a green-colored dead pixel nearly in the center of the screen.
Now that's annoying.
Apple, of course, claims it's the first they've heard about on one of the new iMacs.
I occasionally hear from people who try returning computers or displays because of dead pixels, but invariably are turned away because such a flaw isn't considered serious enough for a full refund. Man, they're peeved, and I symphathize.
LCD manufacturers need to lick this problem.
