Cingular Wireless just came in to show off the Motorola's new iTunes-compatible phone, and I have the pictures to prove it.
I also shot video. In this clip, the phone reacts to an incoming call. In this clip, the phone reacts with light and sound to music coming from another of the handsets.
Update: Some quick impressions from my brief time with the ROKR E1:
-- Cingular kept calling it "iPod-like," but I just don't see it. White coloration alone doesn't an iPod sibling maketh.
-- This is one serious party animal. It lights up all over when calls come in, its built-in speakers for ringtones or music playback are surprisingly good, and it has a cool sound-recognition feature that allows its lights to keep time with music or voices in its surroundings. None if this is useful in the least, but a heckuva lotta fun.
-- Hey, where's the "Podcasts" menu item in iTunes? MIA, apparently.
-- Bluetooth, yum. Since this is an Apple-friendly phone, it should be great for syncing over your Mac Address Book contacts. I'll try this soon.
