They're "video podcasts" or "video blogs" (or "vlogs"), depending on who you ask. (I've used all such terminology in my articles, here and here).
Regardless, these downloadable video programs are getting big -- in Minnesota, among other places.
Chuck Olsen, perhaps the most prominent Minnesota vlogger, recently was nominated for Weblog Awards (he's among several area bloggers to get nods) and mentioned prominently in the New York Times (after appearing in the Pioneer Press, per the links above).
Olsen contributes to Rocketboom, a Big Apple vlog that is becoming more and more famous.
I've just met Chuck's "Vlog Santa" character and, um, well, "enchanted" wouldn't be the word I'd use. This take on St. Nick is a hoot, though :-)
