Awesome planetary-travel artwork by Steve

4mars

I'm a sucker for ingenious science-fiction artwork, so I was delighted to recently discover the whimsical planetary-travel posters of my St. Paul Pioneer Press co-worker Steve Thomas.

This is sensational imagery with a vintage vibe I really like.

The original paintings are now hanging in the Pioneer Press lobby (used as an art gallery) at 345 Cedar St. in downtown St. Paul. Feel free to drop by anytime, but Steve's posters are on official display during the St. Paul Art Crawl beginning Oct. 10. Hope you can make it.

You can buy framed or unframed reproductions of each poster here. The original paintings are also for sale at $225 a pop.

Venus is my fave because it echoes the Edgar Rice Burroughs novels with Frazetta covers I read as a child. What a delight, Steve. Thanks.
